Ibiza-based house and disco fusionists Melon Bomb have been operating for a few years, though this two-tracker for Tensnake's True Romance imprint is still their debut single (previously, they have contributed cuts to multi-artist EPs). Their style is sweaty and celebratory, with choice loops from '70s disco and funk cuts rising above boisterous beats and booming basslines. This is best exemplified by opener 'Nitty-Gritty', where flash-friend funk guitar licks and razor-sharp disco strings catch the ear while redlined house beats and weighty pump away beneath. 'Moovin' [sic], meanwhile, is a more traditional chunk of French Touch inspired disco-house hedonism, with well-placed filter sweeps and delay style effects being used to add rush-inducing peaks and troughs. If you're searching for some excitable and weighty disco-house workouts, look no further.
