Review
Seduction is Merimell's debut EP, which is atonishing when one considers the fact that it sounds unlike any other contemporary release. Inspired by the primal stomp of Chicago ghetto techno, but powered by insistent filters, drum rolls and peppered with chopped up vocal samples, it is in stark contrast to the rest of Desolat's catalogue. The title track sees susbsonic bleeps screeching in over a nagging vocal hook, while "Drop It" is led by insane snares and a 'bass in your face' sample. "Back" is in a similar vein, with churning filters adding the heat to the drum rolls and jacking rhythms. Proving that she is not a one-trick pony, she rounds off the release with the chopped up house groove of "Heat".Get new release alerts
