As one of the co-heads for Cologne based Kompakt, city native Michael Mayer has helped to curate their distinct sound aesthetic for over two decades and is equally revered behind the decks for his epic and masterful sonic narratives. Mayer returns to his beloved imprint for a new offering entitled "Higher" which is his first original contribution to the label in eight years. This is a playful and uplifting tune with an old school aesthetic. Taking its cues from his humble beginnings in Italo disco and early 90's US deep house, it is a future classic if we do say so ourselves.
