Having featured on the inaugural Badlands split volume edition, Midnight Manoeuvres now steps up for this full solo EP for the label. Pastime starts in ominous mode with "Brandon St", a teased out, low-slung break beat workout, while on "Private Eye", the mysterious producer picks up the pace to deliver an equally bleak albeit faster workout. "Paradise K" finds Midnight Manoeuvres in more reflective form, as jazzy soundscapes swirl over more laid-back drums. However, it's only a temporary divergence and on "FF Out", the mood darkens again, as a murky bass provides the backdrop for eerie textures and abstract percussive ticks.
