Since launching in 2012, Jaymo and Andy George's Moda Black label - an offshoot of their already successful Moda label - has steadily risen to become one of the most well-regarded house labels around. The imprint's style - a tactile, atmospheric blend of tech-house, deep house, bass and woozy, funk-fuelled big room grooves - seems to have a knack of capturing the zeitgeist. Here, the two label owners deliver the third instalment in their annual mix series, showcasing tracks released by the imprint in the last 12 months. Smooth, accessible and entertaining, with plenty of standout cuts (see the warehouse acid of Sidney Charles' "Wax Digger '88" and Hauswerks & Saul Summers' sweaty "Just Want U"), Moda Black Volume III is a fitting celebration of a label whose stock continues to rise.
