The Monika Werkstatt album came about in Summer 2016. 10 solo artists met in a studio in the countryside close to Berlin to make music together. They were free of concept, but still inspired by the Monika workshops they experienced previously: they just let go. After listening to the recordings, each artist took a track home to develop and finish. Gudrun Gut's Monika enterprise now takes the collaborative process a step further with a collection of remixes taken from the album. SHAPE platform representative and Salon des Amateurs regular Charlotte Bendiks provides the ethereal and slow burning remix of Islaja + Werkstatt's "Sappho's Gifts", Bucharest's Borusiade serves up some usual darkwave dance in the vein of Correspondant with her rendition of Lucrecia Dalt + Werkstatt's "Blindholes" and Los Angeles electronica legend Daedelus appears also with a version of Sonae + Werkstatt's "Between Two Worlds".
