Monte first surfaced on Jeudi Records back in 2014, delivering the deep house/tech-house fusion of the Canvas EP. Having returned to that label earlier this year with the techno flavoured Radical EP, the Hamburg-based producer has now transferred to Method Records offshoot Method White. Bolide sits somewhere between the rubbery powder funk found on labels such as Hot Creations and Visionquest, and the undulating, after-party friendly tech-house epics of Innervisions. The melodies bubble, spit, rise and fall, accompanied by occasional sustained note chords and a typically tactile groove. It's not particularly revolutionary - though little is, these days - but that misses the point: as far as mood-enhancing club tracks go, it's up there with the best.
