While this collaboration may look a little surprising - Soul Clap man Charles Levine joining forces with Tropical Disco Records founder Moodena - it makes perfect sense when you consider the longevity of both artists and their various roles within the dance music industry over the years. In its original mix form (track one), 'Badman' is an energetic, excitable peak-time house workout in which dial-tone bleep melodies, soundman samples and spacey electronics leap above boisterous beats and a bold, booming bassline. The duo's 'Tell Me Something Dub' naturally emphasises the latter elements, while there are two more revelatory and revolutionary reworks: a loopy, tracky and driving Cratebug remix, and a deliciously druggy, stretched out, bleep-on-ket re-wire by label boss Matt 'Radio Slave' Edwards.Get new release alerts
