Early 80s Germany was a fertile breeding ground for all manner of unexpected musical fusions, and here Toy Tonics bosses Mathias 'Munk' Modica and Kapote present their re-edits of seven ultra-obscure new wave and post-punk gems from the country's underground scene in the years 1979-1983. Imagine the motorik rhythms of Can, Kraftwerk or Neu! colliding head-on with the punk-funk peddled by the likes of ESG, Liquid Liquid or early A Certain Ratio and you've got a rough idea of what to expect - though even that won't prepare you for the Adam Ant-like yodelling on Carmen's 'Schlaraffenland' (a Krautwork-esque rework of the Archies' Sugar Sugar', we kid you not).
