Review
London-based "genre-floating producer" NaCL serves up some pleasingly low-slung and mellow contemporary funk vibes on this three-tracker on his own label. Opener 'Get It Right', an unhurried, meandering cut with a soulful male vocal, has something of Finlay Quaye-ish feel, while the just slightly pacier 'For Loungers & Scroungers' takes us into much jazzier pastures with its soaring sax line and jauntily, tinkling ivories. The standout for this writer though is 'Rooftop Vibes' itself, a livelier, struttier affair during which a frantic breathy flute, parping sax and warbling Hammonds all get their time to shine.Get new release alerts
