With their peerless string of previous compilations, Soul Jazz are legends in their own lifetime. However despite all the collections, they've never covered 1970s Nigerian disco until now that is. This LP explores the small but significant music buzz in Nigeria at that time. Here we get a selection of these uber-rare West African tunes, highlights of which include the xylophones and bass twangs of "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo" by Tee Mac, the quirky electro-pop-funk of "Get Up & Dance" by Benis Cletin and the tight clavinet-wah-wah battle "Mr Been To" by Arakatula. Essential listening.
