Review

As ever with Time Is Now, we are back to explore the darker side of electronic dance music, with DJ Crisps this time supplying us a low-ended marathon of original UKG flavour. We kick off with 'Don't Need No Dirty Money', which works perfectly as a sub-heavy sentinel, patrolling around the sub-speakers with an almost alarm-like tonality within the bass & synth patterns, before the ascending 808 pings of 'Dynamic Reflections' give us something a little more delicate. The party then takes a more tasty route as the crunchy vinyl dust and eyebrow-lifting saxophone lines of 'Release The Pain' deliver a fabulously refreshing display. Finally, 'Sweet Melodies' is given to us as a more tech-influenced outro, fusing moogy bass pulses with constantly shifting drum arrangements for an intriguing finale.
