Review
Old Shady Grady debuted on Uzuri back in 2015, and for this second release, he/she hooks up with the equally obtuse Neighbourhood Character. What follows are tracks composed for late night sessions. "The Queen of Bubbles" sets the tone with wonderfully cinematic keys and a low-tempo, complex rhythm. On "Of Two Minds", a similarly offbeat aesthetic prevails, with the mysterious pair integrating hypnotic bells and a dirgey undercurrent. The tempo picks up on "Fig Jam" as stepping drums provide a dance floor focus of sorts, but this remains a home listening affair as the dreamy, vocal-sampling tones of "Woman's Heels" so effortlessly demonstrates.Get new release alerts
