Next up on the mighty Involve label is Opal, a new producer with just a few releases to his credit, but who clearly has a bright future. Drawing on classic 90s techno tropes but looking at the same time towards the future, he conjures up an intoxicating release. The menacing chord stabs on "Redemption" are redolent of Dave Clarke's Red series, albeit copper-fastened to booming kicks. Meanwhile, on "Corporate Chaos", Opal fuses an intoxicating vocal sample with churning synths, creating simultaneously feelings of depth and dance floor abandon. "Revenge" is more visceral, resounding to noisy bursts of percussive noise and a pounding, pulsating groove, while the title track is a wild, acid-led ride into a tough drum workout.
