Review

Second time around for Peggy Gou's popular debut album, 'I Hear You', a kaleidoscopic exercise in nostalgic grooves, colourful melodic motifs and synth-pop accessibility. This time round, the original ten-track LP - which includes bona-fide crossover club hits including 'Lobster Telephone', 'I Go' and '(It Goes Like) Nanana' - is bundled with a quintet of remixes. There's a driving, big-room ready 'Nanadub' of '(It Goes Like) Nanana' that doffs a peaked cap to mid '90s progressive house, a pitched-up mid 90s US garage take on Lenny Kravitz collaboration 'I Believe In Love Again', a riotous TB-303 smothered acid house re-wire of 'Lobster Telephone' courtesy of Mogwaa, a bouncy, hands-aloft breakbeat-house-meets-late-90s trance revision of '1=1=11' by Spray, and a beatless revision of the same track from Koreless that sounds like Salt Tank (look 'em up, kids).
