Given that he's one of the owners of Maxi Discs - alongside longtime pal and sometime production partner Dicky Trisco - it's perhaps surprising that this is Pete Herbert's first solo single for the label. Amazingly, it's also his first EP under his own name for three years. Naturally, there's plenty to enjoy, from the bouncy nu-disco bass, Italo riffs and rolling disco percussion of "Gang Related", to the Reverso 68 style Balearic nu-disco of "Say What You Want" and bold, anthemic, piano-laden electrofunk rinse-out "Slave To It". Dicky Trisco reworks "Say What You Want", emphasizing the original's Italo-influenced melodies while giving the track a greater dub disco flex.
