Review

German duo Piemont have signed to the beautifully named UK label Selador for their latest release and yes, it's a good one. Dusting off those vintage synthesisers to create something somehow fresh and crackly, the title track bursts with a deliciously tight bassy thump and unbeatable knife-edge production. Samu L gives it a sparse makeover in his edit, swapping gently progressing house for sharp-suited techno. Stephan Hinz takes things even further, minimising the track into a tightly-wond ball of effervescent energy that bursts out into slouchy electro. Finally "So What" is Piemont's darkly techy wanderer, signing off with a bow and a strut. All excellent, all worthy of your collection.
