Since launching in 2001, Kompakt's Pop Ambient series has become one of the more esteemed compilation brands in downtempo music. Such is its longevity, in fact, that listening to each successive, annual instalment has become something of fixture in the calendars of the ambient-inclined. It's little surprise, then, to find that this 15th instalment is the aural equivalent of a familiar friend; a warming, picturesque and gently stimulating selection of ear-pleasing mood-pieces that doesn't try too hard to do anything too different.
