Ralf Geritse's debut on Knopje last year was a finely tuned, marvellously stripped-back techno escapade that sits well within the Donato Dozzy and Prologue school of thought. However, his return this week sees him land on Holland's Shipwreck with something much more abstract and pensive, a seven-track excursion into the deepest, most wondrous realms of electronica. It's not all ambience and hollow sonics, though, where tracks like the opener "Moving In" or "Transition" are full of rhythm and life, and others still are almost at the same levels of techno as his previous release. The only difference is the amount of air and freedom between the beats, rendering this a real journey of a release.
