Hot on the heels of releases for Dirtybird and Defected, Reuben Keeney aka Rebuke delivers a storming EP for Truesoul. The title track twitches and bangs with a rare energy, combining pitch-shifting vocal samples and Red-style chord stabs over glitchy drums and percussion. It shows that Keeney brings a refreshingly DiY approach to his productions. On "Posers Ray Gun", he goes into full rave mode, with bullet-proof metal break beats providing the basis for insistent bleeps and wild percussive volleys. In stark contrast is "Ready to Fly", a somewhat deeper but still pumping groove that marks Keeney out as a serious new talent.
