Following his acclaimed debut, On Feather and Wire, the album was initially set to be released on Editions Mego, but tragedy struck with the sudden passing of Peter 'Pita' Rehberg, the label's legendary owner. This loss, coupled with the diagnosis of Rivet's beloved dog and companion Lilo with incurable cancer, drove him to create in the midst of heartbreak. L+P-2 emerges from a place of despair but remarkably offers solace. Rivet's unique ability to infuse machines with human warmth shines through, with distinctive melodies, gnarly basslines, and captivating drum patterns.
