With just a handful of releases to his name so far, Ronald Koon hails from Dresden, Germany and describes his musical remit as "nu-disco and jacking house". This EP for Slightly Transformed packs three contrasting disco cuts: 'Off The Rayls' would cross over quite nicely to the 'new old' funk and soul scene, 'Uh Boy' sits somewhere between nu-disco and contemporary pop, but the killer to these ears is 'Good Luck Boy', a far quirkier affair that, with its bitchy spoken vocal, calls to mind all those borderline-novelty dance hits of the early 80s - think 'Clouds Across The Moon', 'Kissing With Confidence' or 'Murphy's Law'.
