Londoners Jonni Santos and Sam Holland, AKA Senzala, come to Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound in imprint with three no-nonsense house cuts made for moving booties on the dancefloor. 'Illusions' itself has very now-sounding techy beats but otherwise owes a big debt to the filter disco of the late 90s/early 00s. It's got energy to spare, too - one to save for peaktime! 'Sunset' is a deeper groove with vocal cut-ups and, again, much use of the filters, while finally 'Salina' surprises simply because title gives no clue that it's actually a tech-tinged rework of Santana-via-Candido disco classic 'Jingo'.Get new release alerts
