Sam Coates is back everyone, look out! The Manchester based techno producer is on a roll at the moment with his fierce DJ tools that are strongly influenced by the late-90s sound of Regis and Surgeon. But this EP sees his style mature and become more refined. This time it's for Len Faki's Figure imprint. First track "Mueh" and "Planet Earth" are the most restrained tracks you've probably ever heard by Coates, sombre and mysterious ambient pieces to really set the mood for the rest of the EP, which is business as usual. "Solo (Part 1)" is bleepy, mental, peak time futurism for fans of Rodhad or Post Scriptum. "Solo (Part 2) is darkside electro in the vein of Bass Junkie or Dexorcist. "Numb" is pummelling industrial techno that's well suited to a set at techno institution Berghain.
