The work of Mancunian brotherly duo Shadowdancer aka Alan and Paul Farrier, Love From Alan & Paul was recorded back in the late 90s. What is so surprising about this work is that it has survived the ravages of time. When recording the album, the Farrier brothers took inspiration from classic UK and US techno, and in places these influences are clearly audible. Take "Encore Room", with its blissed out melodies and loose break beats, which replicates long forgotten artists like Insync, or "Pressurized", which features the resonating keys and booming bass of Kevin Saunderson's classic Reese project. However, the Farriers have also gone their own way and the ponderous guitar chimes of "Not Even The Rain" suggests a youth spent listening to the Blue Nile.
