Review
Ghost Vision's "Shakuhachi" is the work of Thomas Gandey and and Danny McLewin, who are better known as Psychemagik. Recorded in late 2016, the title track feels like it belongs to an earlier era, thanks to its breezy, spacey melodies and Linn drum sound. To ensure that it has a contemporary flavour, Love on the Rocks have commissioned two great remixes. Tokyo Black Star who are known for their work on Innervisions, turn it into a slinky electronic disco workout. Meanwhile Al Kassian's take sees him drop funky break beats and spiralling acid lines without losing the cosmic melodies and breathy sensuality that makes "Shakuhachi" unique.Get new release alerts
