Given his long production history and love of soulful, jazz-fired dancefloor flavours, we were rather surprised to find that this marks Simbad's first appearance on BBE. He's got company, too, with the stylish vocals of regular collaborator Emilie Nana providing a focal point throughout. "Wild Sensation" is a bustling Chicago house jack-track, with Nana doing her best impression of Robert Owens over clattering machine drums and a killer bassline. Arguably even more potent is "The Reign of Obsolete Technology", an even more up-tempo workout that thrillingly utilizes fizzing electronics and rich electrofunk synth chords amongst the bustling drum machine hits. Simbad's Dub of the same track is the pick of the remixes, though the jazzy, UK garage-influenced bounce of Crowdpleaser Hothaus's take on "Wild Sensation" is also addictive.
