Review
There isn't much doubt that Sleeper can take his rightful place as one of dubstep's new-school royalty, and this four track EP alongside the Crucial Recordings gang pretty much sums up why. The title track 'Smoke & Mirrors' is a syncopated madness, focussing on super swingy drum movement whilst pounding subs writhe below and wavy percussive synths float above. From here we move into the similarly swung sounds of 'Greens' and tripletty ball of beautifully arranged distortion entitled 'U Take L's'. We then round off with the incredibly weighty soundscaping of 'Le Goonz'. This one is a monster, from the demonic melodic leads to the irresistible sub movement underneath.Get new release alerts
