Review
In a move that has been built up to for some time, Ninja Tune welcome Slugabed into their family with this album. His wonderfully ramshackle beats are only ever matched by his knack for lashings of melody, both from his brassy samples and high-strength synths, as much on this album as any output that preceded it. The gregarious boogie of "Sex" remains a standout track, while "Moonbeam Rider" bumps with all manner of delirious funk that tips its hat a little to the cheeky swagger of Skweeee. Watch out for the wild "Unicorn Suplex", which comes on like Dam Funk getting sped-up and freaky in a NES. Highly recommended.Get new release alerts
