Alexandre Mouracade is a stalwart of the Los Angeles underground, where for close to two decades he has been active as a respected selector, the mind behind the city's legendary Making Shapes warehouse parties and a label manager - he runs Machine Limited with fellow west coast legend Travis T.K. On his own, he's churned out some groovy dancefloor oriented cuts for Kompakt on several occasions - and his new EP retains the standard we're used to. "Tame" pursues the deep and techy side of nu-disco, featuring the vocals of DJ Harvey collaborator Beesh on a track that perfectly soundtracks a Sunday downtown rooftop party in the City Of Angels. It also receives a moody and levitating remix by Italian masters of dancefloor drama - Marvin & Guy. But the real underdog here was the heady and hypnotic afterhours affair "Across The Pond" which really nails that classic Kompakt vibe of old!
