Review

Back with their 12th instalment of this popular series, Expansion records have compiled some of the 2011's best new international soul on this essential collection. Japan's Shuya Okino impresses enormously with the nu-funk of "Give Your Love a Chance", while Australia's Electric Empire strongly recall Al Green and Bill Withers on "Baby Your Lovin'". Legends like Jean Carne and Leon Ware also represent from the old guard, while London-based funkers Los Charly's Orchestra drop a jazz-fusion bomb in the form of "Felling High".
