Contemporary industrialists Statiqbloom and Zex Model have been pricking the ears of coldwave-minded listeners for some time, largely through a catalogue of self-released gems. Here, Paris's worthy Desire Records imprint gives them a chance to shine, bringing together an album's worth of tracks from the two producers. Statiqbloom - a side project from former heavy metal artist Fade Kainer - handles the virtual A-side, dropping a quartet of tracks that sound like the mutant offspring of Nitzer Ebb, Nine Inch Nails and 400 Blows. There's a similarly stylish and distorted feel about Russian producer Zex Model's contributions, with the intense EBM of "Rokk" and discordant buzz of "Tokyo Blitz" standing out.
