Reminition packs the type of killer blows that most bleak contemporary techno fails to deliver. The most abrasive track is "Anguiliform", its slamming rhythm and concrete kick drums underscoring waves of white noise and a succession of filtered breakdowns. It's no mean feat that Subsight manages to maintain the same level of intensity for over 12 minutes. While it would be inaccurate to call "Grand Kao" restrained, its dark rolling rhythm is not quite as intense as "Anguiliform" - and the use of trance riffs lends it a more musical feeling. But it's only a temporary reprieve and Subsight ups the ante again on the massive filters and pumping rhythms of the title track and Zrk's metallic reshape of same.
