German DJ and producer Sven Laux was born in Neubrandenburg and now based in Berlin. He has had releases on Sleep Is Commercial, Dewtone and Unfoundsound and now appears for Pheek's Archipel imprint out of Montreal and is in fact his second release for the label since 2013's Comfort Fragments LP. The dark ambient intro "Transmission I" sees Laux do his bets impression of Alva Noto until "Parachesis" introduces a sound more typical of the German producer, with its deep and ethereal sense of groove. The subtle and slow rolling house of "Parallelism" sounds like a Vid record on -8, the gorgeous title track is a certain highlight with its William Basinksi style atmospherics reminiscent of his Watermusic II opus. Final track "Assonance" is another smooth exploration of the minimal house persuasion over it's lush 14 minute entirety. Highly recommended.
