Japanese producer Tetsuya Narita was first turned onto house music by visits to the now legendary End nightclub in London. On this debut EP for German label Apparel, you can tell. Lead cut "From This Town" bubbles with original tech-house flavour - all hypnotic, future-leaning synths, Detroit-influenced rhythms and chunky deep house savvy. There's also a neat tech-house vibe to the snappy, late night grooves of "Layer Cake", whilst "Swim In The Puddle" creates a titanium-plated dancefloor groove from the sparsest of elements. There's also an excellent Sek remix of the title track, which offers a brick-thick alternative to the more obviously melodic original.Get new release alerts
