Somewhere 30 minutes into '1985', there's a line in 'The World Keeps Turning' about online shopping. Which is quite handy, because it's the first indication this album gives that it's actually a 2018 release, and not a long-lost electro classic from the early 80s. The Egyptian Lover's release history does actually stretch all the way back to those halcyon days, though, so in this case such diehard dedication to the electro cause is to be applauded. As it's his ninth long player (and third since returning to the scene in 2006) fans will know what to expect already, but if you've yet to make his musical acquaintance, a world of old-fashioned b-boy thrills awaits.
