Jesper Dahlback's Persuader alter ego was one of house music's most inspiring projects during the 90s - and the Swedish producer made a welcome return in 2015 with an album, Skargard, under this name. This time, Dahlback has opted for a somewhat darker approach; gone are the jazzy stylings of releases like "Stockholm By Night", replaced by the dark, foreboding bass of "The Arrival", which sounds like a slower, teased out take on his DK7 project. "Close Coming" makes a return of sorts to the project's deep, atmospheric roots with frosty synths unfolding over a rickety rhythm, while on "Believe", he uses a surging bass to underpin ghostly vocals - as evocative as fog banks rolling in over the Baltic Sea.
