Review
It's fair to say that Legendary Sound Research has been on decent form of late. This double-header, featuring new cuts from The St Petersburg Disco Spin Club and label bosses The Legendary 1979 Orchestra, is another belter. The former steps up first, offering a chunk of sparse but attractive piano house revivalism in the shape of "Night Driving". JKriv remixes, thickening up the groove, making more of the relentless pianos and adding a few decidedly Balearic touches. The Legendary 1979 Orchestra go even further into Balearic territory on their sparkling, sun-flecked "Love Triangle Theme" (all loose grooves, darting synths and gorgeous pianos), while Manc deviant Ruf Dug provides the EP's highlight with his dubby, intoxicating, proto-house inspired rework.Get new release alerts
