In case you wondered, Aussie-in-Berlin Timothy Sullivan's machine is definitely soft, though the music he makes is far from flaccid or floppy. "It's Operational" is, in fact, a rather fine trip into Italo-disco/acid house fusion, with early electro-style vocoder vocal lines and a dash of nu-disco sassiness thrown in. By Eskimo standards, it's pretty tough and intoxicating, but that's no bad thing. The CHIDA remix drags the track further towards shirts-off, camp-as-Christmas Italo-disco territory - in the process emphasizing the original's more obviously analogue elements - while Avalon Emerson chooses to re-calibrate "It's Operational" as a bustling chunk of raw tech-house intensity.
