UK producer Ross Tones, aka Throwing Snow, creates haunting and modern electronic music with many of its roots firmly placed in synth productions of the 1980s. Released through his own Snowfall imprint, this new EP features four immaculately sculpted slices of fizzy, vital electronica. "Aspera" is slo-mo melancholia of the finest kind; "Melum" revisits the moods painted by Jan Hammer on stuff like Crockett's Theme. 'Lingerwell' is heartbroken minimal house and "Behest" is like warped trance, with wall of sound Euro-synths reduced to epic sludge. In a good way.
