Ahead of the release of his second Traversable Wormhole CD, Adam 'X' Mitchell unveils more remixes of the project. The US producer deserves praise for not bowing to pressure and commissioning versions from populist big names. Instead, he has gone back to the industrial source to get stalwarts like Orphx and Monolith to do reshapes. The former delivers a stomping take on "Worldline", its grimy rhythm and splurging bass sounding bombastic and intense, but also allowing an eerie bleep sequence to emerge. Meanwhile, Monolith's take on "The Wormhole Nexus" offers little respite and its abrasive, slamming rhythm makes for techno at its most functional.
