Following a recent release on Ovum, the prolific, always consistent Truncate drops this three-tracker for Hardgroove. In its original form, the title track deviates from the label's overall approach. While it is based on a rolling groove, Truncate weaves in atmospheric, Detroit-style stabs. On "Remember (V2)", his approach changes: upping the pace, the rhythm is leaner and tougher, with the musical elements tweaked to take on a more menacing form. "That Chord Again" may have a slightly self-deprecating title, but it's not hard to know what Truncate's getting at - at the heart of the track is an insistent synth stab. Underpinned by a dense, driving rhythm, the combination makes for classic Truncate.
