Review
A single-track release here from Italian veteran Tuccillo, coming on Kisk's label Apparel Music. 'Hear Me' opens with intricate, toppy percussion before introducing a hefty yet pleasingly understated bassline, which is then further augmented by a meandering and heavily treated guitar part, atmospheric synth sweeps and a chipmunk'd female vocal sample (think Akon's 'Lonely' or The 411's 'On My Knees'). The end result is a delicate, lightly jazz-tinged affair that's still surprisingly floor-friendly, thanks in no small part to that unassuming but heavyweight bass throb: obvious, instant and in-your-face 'Hearme' is not, but it could still turn out to be the sleeper hit of the summer.Get new release alerts
