Review:
UBX127 sounds like the name of an obscure 80s synth but the type of music that this mysterious producer follows on this second release for Figure is decidedly futuristic. It starts with the frosty electronic melodies of "Han" before picking up pace on "Create & Destroy". Led by insistent claps and hypnotic tones it's a functional but distinctive minimal techno track. "Barabrus" sees the release slow down with UBX127 laying down an atmospheric take on the stripped back approach that has defined the release. On closing track "Swells" the pace picks up again as a clanging metallic rhythm underpins swampy layers of effects and textures.
