The latest release on Nina Kraviz' label is in keeping with its left of centre approach, but with an added twist; instead of the usual techno approach that TRIP focuses on, Volruptus pivots towards electro. Drawing on a range of influences within that sound, he delivers the title track's hyper-speed bleeps and skeletal, stepping rhythm. "Fermi Paradox", which is powered by a robust bass and ghostly samples, offers a slightly more esoteric take on dance floor electro, while on "We'll Be Allright", he moves into deep, expansive sounds, the acid influence still audible in the background. Marking yet another unexpected shift is "Time Travel", which sees Volruptus veer towards tripped out minimal house.
