Fresh from remixing label owner Laurent Garnier, emerging producer Voltaire provides a preview of three tracks from his forthcoming album. Steeped in the traditions of Detroit techno and electro, this EP is an emotive but dance floor friendly affair - and exactly the type of soulful electronic music that the COD3 QR boss plays out. Rumbling basslines, robust rhythms and atmospheric synth passages are prevalent throughout, with Voltaire adding a human touch with the playful vocals of "Moment". "Dance" is darker, thanks to the use of dystopian synths and spine-tingling builds, while "Connection Lost" sees him head in a different direction.
