Review: This five-track single provides a taster for s/t, the debut album from Traxx, Beau Wanzer and Steve Summers aka Mutant Beat Dance. Produced in the trio's signature grainy style, it features the baby samples and moody, repetitive bass-led "Toy Story" as well as a possible cross over track in the shape of the jittery punk-funk and scratchy guitars of "Feed The Enemy", a collaboration with Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem. Despite this fleeting flirtation with fame, this release also shows that Mutant Beat Dance haven't forgotten their past: "Funk Groove" is a swampy piece of electro-funk and "Revival 80s" mines a path through the basement moods and dusty drum machines of 80s proto-house.

Review: If you are looking to escape from the madness of everyday life and dive into a delightful display of dubwise divinity, then look no further than this gorgeous album project from Another Channel, courtesy of the ever-ready Moonshine Recordings. The album is a sumptuous look into the spacial textures and hypnotic melodic tweaks that give electronic dub music its unique collection of qualities, from the hammond organ solos and booming bassline of 'Congo', to the more mystic backdrops of 'Qin' and scattered drum rhythms of 'Never'. The whole album just exhales a feeling of futurism, with our favourite additions including the creeping percussive claps of 'Let Some', which again utilizes a serious slap of a bassline, next to the eerie, yet warming vocal displays of 'Wickedness'. We would definitely recommend taking this one in on long play.

Review: The Moonshine crew have such a fantastic knack for unleashing and showcasing the best and most creative sounds in new school dub music, with this wicked new three-tracker from EchoBoy being a great example of that in action. We begin with the bulbous bass LFO sweeps and dubwise vocal delays of the official Jahova remix, of course featuring Danny Red & The Herb at the same time. This system-ready roller then makes way for the more typically dubstep-sounding 'I'N'I Dub', focussing on drippy percussive inputs and more old school chord progressions, before 'Dub Teachings' takes us on an underground adventure through sweeping harmonics and original dub flavours. Excellent work!

Review: For us, the Glasgow based sound system champions known as Mungo's Hi Fi receive nowhere near enough credit for their constant stoking of the UK's dub and reggae fire. They here team up with both Eva Lazarus and the legendary Max Romeo on their home imprint of Scotch Bonnet for a wicked future dub-style creeper. As a recording 'Babylon Raid' is the perfect fusion of classic roots audio and modern experimental reggae flavours, dipping between a smokey introduction and a more digitized breakdown, perfect for lighting up the dance!
