Review: As the title suggests, this quietly impressive compilation draws together the "best bits" of Johannes Kolter's KOLTERCAMP imprint, a digital-only label he's long used as a vehicle for his own productions. In some ways, it feels like an introduction to the Cologne artist's work - or one side of it, at least (he also has the more rugged KOLTRAX series and guest releases on other labels). Highlights include the Alicia Myers-sampling disco-house chunkiness of 'Be Real', the insanely funky, P-funk sampling US house bump of 'Get Sexy', the sun-splashed jazz-house deepness of 'Duke', the effortlessly soulful shuffle of 'Sunny Days' and the spacey deep house wonder that is 'Let You Go'. Review: Constant Sound is back with more of its constantly good sonics, this time from Dennis Quin who offers up a potent blend of raw minimal, tech and house. 'My Belief' is the sort of cut to get clubs marching as one to the jacked-up drums and whirring synth motifs. 'Hear Dis' has plenty of infectious garage skip to it and 'Eighty Four' layers up slick percussion with bumping drum funk and some nice exotic vocal samples. There will be an all-out party whenever 'Call For House' gets dropped with its wild synth lines and yelling vocals perfect for amping up the crowd.

Review: Back in the late 1990s, German producers Jorge Henze and Jerome Isma-Ae released a string of now sought-after 12-inch singles as ACME. 'Soul of Life', from 1998, is one of their most in-demand EPs - hence this belated digital reissue. What makes the three-track collection so unique is its incorporation of speed garage (as it was then called) elements alongside contemporaneous house and tech-house sounds. This hybrid sound is best exemplified by the skipping, dubby and glassy-eyed 'Soul of Life I', though the more melodious, deep house influenced 'Soul of Life II' - all saucer-eyed pads, tactile organ riffs and smooth grooves - is almost as impressive. 'Soul of Life III', the EP's final variation, opts for a Grant Nelson style late '90s 4/4 UK garage flex.

Review: Joseph Price has been serving up solid (and sometimes sensational) fare as Third Son for the best part of a decade, showcasing his wares on labels including Cajual Records, Unknown To The Unknown, Stil Vor Talent and 17 Steps. Here Price makes his belated bow on Lost Palms via a mini-album containing eight tried-and-tested treats. Check first the sparkling, melody rich title track 'If You Remember The 90s You Weren't There', a bouncy fusion of vintage progressive house cheeriness, sun-splashed deep house and nods to the classier end of mid-90s trance, before admiring the joyous melodic techno of 'Wisdom of the Crowd' and the warehouse-ready headiness of 'Posing For Pictures When It's a Video'. Review: Belfast-born producer Rory Hamilton, known as Hammer, showcases his adeptness in the underground sound with his latest offering, Red Alert. With a pedigree co-helming Feel My Bicep and releases on Optimo and Shall Not Fade, Hammer's disco sound travels globally. "Red Alert" goes large with its superbly chugging rhythm, featuring a sleazy low end and cosmic arpeggios, grounded by a taught bassline. Its subtly euphoric atmosphere, Italo chord progressions, and retro sound designs inject some vibrant colour into the mix. Shackling up for the single is ABSOLUTE., a luminary of the London dance scene also, who delivers a raw and percussive remix that harkens back to early Chicago house, adorned with rave-ready stabs and energetic drums.

Opening with Chicago House legend DJ Sneak's "Lower Level", the album sets a high bar with its iconic rolling groove. Sirus Hood and Gui Wittckind deliver a collaborative powerhouse with "HOT!", while De Angelis makes a striking label debut with "FKING INC." delving into deep grooves and industry truths. SAMIR and INDECK team up for the gritty "MTFKS", Buogo returns with the deeper "Angle", and Sunday Noise and Ben Finx blow up the dance floor with "Get It For Me". Review: Given that his Crosstown Rebels label debut, 'Horizon Red', was widely praised as one of the underground club cuts of 2023, hopes are naturally high for Made In Pete's speedy sequel. In its original form (track one), 'Fires' is a burning hot (sorry) blend of moody vocals (and vocalisations), shuffling house beats, rubbery synth-bass and meandering TB-303 acid motifs. He provides a tougher, darker and more after-hours-friendly 'Dub Mix' of his own, while the package also boasts two other revisions: a deeper, dreamier and more loose-limbed rework by UK scene stalwart Bushwacka!, and a deliciously dark, twisted and mind-mangling tribal house-goes-acid rework courtesy of Victor Calderone and Mykol.
