Review: Rasser, one of Europe's most talented techno producers, makes his debut on Edit Select. The title track is an expansive, dubby affair. Featuring swirling textures and a pulsating groove, these elements make for a compelling arrangement. On "React in Time", he ups the intensity levels. While the overall sound design bears similarities to "React", the pace and cavernous aesthetic make it more club friendly. "Assimilate the Process" sees Rasser opt for a linear approach. He uses the stripped back rhythm as a backdrop for reverberating tones and dubbed out percussion. "Atypical Concerns" is more esoteric. Rasser's production aesthetic remains the same though, and swirling textures unravel over a rolling, tribal groove.

Review: Skjold returns to Edit Select with a spellbinding release. The tile track is an ominous, droning affair, its layered tones as dark as a winter's night in central Europe. "Modern Minimal" sees Skjold push in a more evocative direction, with a reverberating, two-note bass providing the backdrop for eerie tones. On "Radial" and "Stellar", the Viennese artist drops lean, sparse grooves that are led by metallic percussion and rolling drums. Meanwhile, "Tunnels" sounds like Mike Parker caught in a wind tunnel, with dense tones overlaid with atmospheric textures; closing out an exemplary release is "Invariant", where a rolling rhythm supports a cacophony of found sounds.
