Review: As Miami Winter Music Conference spins around for another year so does Toolroom's affiliated compilation showcasing why Mark Night's label remains at the precipice of mainstream club music. Bringing with it two full length DJ mixes and exclusive tracks from crew like Alex Kenji, Jerome Robins and Camila Jun, there's also banging numbers from legends like Green Velvet, Nicole Moudaber and Shadow Child next to Low Steppa and Tony Romera! ESSEL kicks off the compilation with the catchy choral loops of "The Edge", with other highlights to mention across some 50 tracks coming from Martin Ikin's drippin' "Make U Sweat", CASSIM's disco-tinged "Wanna Feel Something" and Carly Wilford's "The Dance". Time to dive into Miami 2024 - Toolroom style!
Review: Get ready to hear a lot more from Hotswing, a rising star on the Toolroom label. Following the success of his debut single "Feel It," Hotswing returns with "Sensation," another surefire club weapon packed with dance floor energy. "Sensation" is instantly recognizable as a Hotswing track, featuring raw drum sound, a big, infectious groove. A perfect fit for the Toolroom label's sound, this infectious track is sure to set dance floors alight.
Review: Just in time for ADE, Toolroom drops this comprehensive compilation. Fans of the long-running label will find much to love here. Good-time disco comes courtesy of KC Lights & Lapsley's infectious "Better Times" and Ejeca's joyous, sample-heavy "In & Out". The minimal end of the house spectrum is also well-served; there's the woozy break downs and builds of Martin Ikin's driving "Oscill8" and Essel's deconstructed rhythm on "Lennon". Amsterdam 2023 also serves up some irresistible, old-school selections. Pirate Copy's "Love Will Save the Day" is an intense, hardcore-sampling house track. Meanwhile on "I Just Wanna", Local Singles meld skipping garage beats with an urgent vocal and insistent siren riffs.
Review: If you're looking for a quick snapshot of where house music is at in 2022 then you could do a lot worse than pick up this latest Toolroom compilation. With 50 full-length cuts to choose from, plus two 75-minute DJ mixes, you're certainly getting plenty of bang for your buck, and with the likes of Ilyus & Barrientos, Leftwing:Kody, Shadow Child, Hannah Wants, Franky Rizardo, Mason Maynard and Huxley all represented, you get a good chance to catch up with what some of today's biggest stars have been up to lately, as well as checking out fresh cuts from veterans like ATFC, Wally Lopez, Nic Fanciulli and of course label boss Mark Knight himself.
Review: Toolroom's annual White Island compilation bounces back this year with a wide range of house styles. There's the lush melodies and breathy vocals of label owner Mark Knight's "Make You Happy". Meanwhile, vocal tracks are, as always, a prominent feature. Pete Griffiths delivers a soulful track in the shape of the piano-led, celebratory "Get Together", while Melanie Ribbe's "Big" is a more subtle affair, with haunting vocals riding a rolling, techy groove. In contrast, ESSEL delivers a throbbing, primal workout in the form of "Sweat". Havoc & Lawn's "Reflection" offers another take on the perennial sound - this time, the focus is on a brittle, stepping rhythm.
Review: The label's suffered a little from Man Utd Syndrome over the years but for me, you just can't fault a Toolroom comp: they always offer great VFM, and as quick bi-annual (or whatever) snapshots of 'where house is at right now', they're unbeatable. The headline for this installment is that, where the Toolroom story over the past few years has mostly been about label boss Mark Knight getting back in touch with his soulful roots, this set leans a little more to the tuff n' techy side. But with 50 full-length tracks to choose from, plus two hour-long DJ mixes - and with that M1 drop on Azete's 'Born Bad' worth the price of admission on its own! - you really can't go wrong here.
Review: To celebrate Toolroom's return to the electronic music hub that is Amsterdam Dance Event, the label has compiled a selection of essential music, featuring some of the best underground cuts of the moment. Included are two continuous house and tech house mixes exploring the plethora of tunes presented - 50 to be exact - not to mention six exclusive tracks from talents. There's Kideko's trumpet led uplifting house workout "Free", Carly Wilford with the sweltering tribal tech house of "Burning Night" and Carly Carmen getting deep with some late night mood music - plus many more.
Review: Big room house specialists Toolroom have been responsible for countless White Isle anthems over the years, something that makes their annual Toolroom Ibiza compilations a must-check for those seeking future floor-fillers. Their latest edition is something of a beast, featuring no less than 50 full-length, unmixed tracks and a couple of themed, non-stop DJ mixes (one gathers the set's deep, funky and electro house cuts, the other the tech-house tracks). Naturally there are far too many highlights to list here, but our current favourites includeMason Maynard's subtly DJ Mujava-inspired 'Light My Fire', the piano-powered rush of GotSome and Georgia Meek's 'Dead End', the twisted tech-house weight of Iglesias and Classmatic's 'Freak', and the warped, mind-mangling late-night shuffle of De La Swing and Rendher's 'Voodoo Step'.
Review: It's that time of year again, when the industry's finest head en masse to one of the biggest events in global dance music - WMC. As always, the Toolroom family will be a known presence throughout the week-long festivities, and here's a sneak preview of the future classics they'll be dropping at this year's parties in The Magic City. Label chief Mark Knight naturally kicks things off (in collaboration with Mason) on the sweltering funky house of "Givin' Up", label stalwart Maxinne teams up with Chicago veteran Gene Farris on the deep tribal workout "Our House", the ascendant Carly Wilford & Anelisa Lamola keep on with the uplifting vocal house energy on "We Rise" while the always impressive GotSome teams up with Kokiri for the Inner City-inspired "Big Time Love" (feat Tasty Lopez) plus the welcome addition of Kittball Records boss Juliet Sikora with Tini Gessler on the high tech minimal of "Tidy Up" among many others. Comes with two continuous mixes to boot.
Review: Toolroom Miami 2023 is this year's hottest soundtrack to one of the most anticipated conferences in dance music. The list of artists included runs like a roll call of the most exciting producers in electronic music right now with highlights such as: ascendant Brit Weiss on the uplifting vocal house anthem "Let Me Love You", Bristolian bass house hero Will Clarke doing his thing on "Tricky", the ever impressive Eli Brown nailing that peak time vibe on "Always", Hannah Wants getting deep down and dirty on the Kevin Saunderson sampling "Love Somebody" and Toronto's finest DJ Sneak & Demuir doing their thing on "Good Ol' Days". Review: With a whopping 70 tracks featured on this latest installment in the 'House Party' series, you'll forgive us if we don't go into each one individually! It's fair to say though that whether it's peaktime tech-house, pumping discofied grooves, tuff tribalism, off-kilter jazzy bizniss or sweet soulful vibes you're after, you'll find it all here and more besides, with Hoover stabs, rolling Afro beats, speed garage basslines, the Korg M1 organ, torchy fem vox and ragga chat all making cameo appearances along the way! Dive in and find your personal faves, or just sit back, press play on one of the three bundled DJ mixes and let GW Harrison, Chaney and Tim Baresko do the selecting for you.

Review: Mark Knight & Co.round out the year with 'Best Of Toolroom 2020', a 50 track compilation delivering a collection of the label's biggest releases from the year that was into one package. Review: Always at the forefront of the best house and techno, Toolroom call on Slovenian ace Umek to helm the latest in their series of Toolroom Knights mixes. Review: Each year 'This Is Toolroom' sets the tone for the British powerhouse's musical plans. Presented by London veteran (and Soul Purpose main man) Martin Ikin, this is an essential compilation to kick off a new decade, where you will discover essential cuts from label staples and newcomers alike across these 20 tracks - that cover the musical spectrum that Toolroom dubs its own. Highlights are not limited to: label boss Mark Knight kicking things off with the sultry and tribal vocal house anthem "Mona Lisa", the man himself Ikin contributing the funky house bomb "I'll Be" featuring Malika, Windy city legend Gene Farris bangs the party with the absolutely electric "Back In The Day" as well as the hosts of the label's last compilation Sllash & Doppe and Mendo, who serve up some seriously good vibes on "Back To The House" and "Give It To Me" respectively. As always, it comes with a continuous mix that's blended to perfection by Ikin.
Review: With Ibiza's extended summer season almost upon us, Toolroom has served up a suitably epic collection of cuts that it expects to be big on the White Isle this summer. Label boss Mark Knight has provided a trio of DJ mixes ("Poolside", "Club" and "Afterclub") and the unmixed tracks included all fit into these loose categories. There's not enough room to list all of the highlights, but we've been enjoying the funk-fuelled disco-house rush of Illyus and Barrientos' "The One", the sleazy, bass-heavy bounce of Max Chapman's "Steppa", the acid-powered tech-house-jack of Del-30's "Gravity" and the weighty, mind-altering thump of "Low End Theory" by Eli Brown.
Review: Following the re-release of "Zdarlight" on Toolroom earlier this year, Digitalism return to Mark Knight's mega-label with an arena-blasting rendition of Bloc Party's recent hit "Truth"... The result? A synth-soaked slice of euphoria with more emotion than 20 weddings put together. Part one of a special two part release; expect an equally naughty remix of The Rapture in coming weeks. A very strong release for all concerned.
